Amalia is an engineering model of lunar rover designed for the exploration of the Moon’s surface.

The rover was designed in the frame of the national project A.M.A.L.I.A. which involved several Italian universities and companies for the participation to the Google Lunar X-Prize.

From 2008 Team DIANA produced three lunar rover prototypes, carrying the name Amalia.

The third and final Amalia rover prototype, produced in 2015, was equipped with innovative, patented lunar-grade wheels, active suspension system and a navigation system based on computer vision.
During the production of the Amalia prototypes Team DIANA has collaborated with companies such as FCA and Altec.
